SLIDING END PIN

This end-pin can be set on any double bass. With a slight pressure on the pedal, the pin slides down with its own weight. One can set the height of the bass very precisely since there is no notch. To put it back in, only let the bass slide back down by pushing the pedal. No more leaning down to set the pin, it can be adjusted at any moment.
FLIPPING TAIL-PIECE
This tail-piece can be set on any double-bass. It is meant to release the string pressure in one move without touching the upper gears. It can be useful for sound post adjustments. It is really meant for basses with detachable necks. Taking the pressure off only takes two seconds this way. Also puting back the neck becomes much easier and quicker because the bass is back in tune when the tail piece is flipped back into closed position

ADJUSTABLE SOUND POST

Thanks to a screw at its end, the sound post length can be adjusted from the outside with a wrench through the back. This way the tension between the top and the back (usually adjusted by pushing in or pulling the post) can be controlled and set for optimum musical result.

STRING PRESSURE ADJUSTER
The pressure on the table can be adjusted thanks to the telescopic anchor : the tail piece thread is attached to the anchor and can be raised or lowered with a simple Allen wrench. Lowering the anchor adds pressure since it sharpens the angle of the strings at the bridge. Raising it gets the opposite effect.

WHEELS FOR TRANSPORTATION
Short model
Tall model
The roller-type wheel with ball bearings is mounted on a metal piece which absorbs bumps. The wheel allows a very smooth ride, very easy to control.
Pin can be of 10 or 12 mm diameter
2 sizes are available : short and tall.
TURN ANY DOUBLE BASS INTO A TRAVEL BASS WITH DETACHABLE NECK AND ADJUSTABLE ACTION
On any double bass my system allows to detach and put back the neck in a few seconds by turning a wheel on its side. The wheel also allows string action control by rotation of the neck :
1 - How to remove the neck :
- - Lift the tail-piece to release the tension of the strings and take the bridge off
- - Unscrew the wheel while holding the neck : after a few turns it goes off
2 - How to set the neck back :
- - Insert the neck back, rods into the holes and screw the wheel until it stops
- - Put the string holder back around the pin and position the bridge and strings
- - Put the pressure back by closing the tail piece downward
3. How to adjust the string action :
- Turn the wheel upward to raise the fingerboard towards the strings for less action
- Turn the wheel downward to make the fingerboard go down for more action
How it is done
In a few days your bass can be turned into a travel bass with detachable and adjustable neck. The neck is sawn at the foot and the system is installed under the fingerboard and into the foot.
All axis are respected and only a thin space is visible. The neck is as strong as before.
To go back to the initial state the neck can be glued back to its foot or we can make a graft : neither the top nor the back butt nor the upper block have been touched.
Transport :
A classical double bass which requires a huge hard case can now fit into a unique strong small case only weighing around 50 lbs depending on the weight of the bass itself.
